Practice Information
When you call to make an appointment, our reception team will ask for a brief explanation of how we can assist you. This is because we have introduced something called Care Navigation.
We have trained our receptionists to help you find the best service for your needs. This ensures you receive the right care quickly. Anything you share with our team will be kept confidential.
They will ask for a brief outline of your current symptoms, how long you have had the symptoms and if they are changing. If you have spoken to anyone about this problem before (like a pharmacist, hospital doctor, physio), and what are you currently doing to help with this problem.
Please be clear if your request is regarding medication, for a sick note, and let us know if you are pregnant.
It is about helping you get to the service you need and supporting you to manage your health.
For convenience, you can also send a PATCHS message instead of calling. Click here to register.

In line with the requirements of NHS England we have now allocated a named GP to each patient registered with us and this will normally be the GP that you are registered with at the practice.
This does not mean you can only see your named GP. You can see any clinician in the practice as you currently do.
Patients do not need to take any further action with regards to this.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Avicenna Medical Practice in the 2023/24 financial year was £121,301 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs, 1 part time GP and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
